Just when I think I have seen everything something comes along to remind me that there is still much to learn. This shot from a 4H competition at the Evergreen State Fair is a reminder that things we might find personally painful are fully acceptable when applied by the correct hand.

We attended the University District Fair today.The streets were crowded with sunshine worshipers eager to get some french fries and ice cream. On one corner a small family performed, playing bluegrass for the crowd forming around them. This young man played as if he was the only person there, and charmed everyone who watched.
Saturday we took a visiting friend out to the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival for a spring infusion of color. The festival takes place from April 1-30 each year but is really dependent upon how harsh the winter and early spring are to the flowers.
