Last month we traveled down to Portland to meet with Ashley and Keegan for their engagement session. We originally met Keegan as a groomsman from a wedding the year before, so we were all happy to get together again.  Keegan expressed a desire to go up to the Pittock Mansion overlooking the city for the photo shoot, so we met there on an early Saturday morning.

We arrived at the Pittock Mansion before the actual house was open, but since the grounds are part of the Portland Parks system and we had obtained the necessary permit to shoot beforehand, we strolled through the area and took our photos.

This wall was actually pretty high, but Keegan had things in hand for these shots. Ashley was a real trooper considering she had just suffered a serious fall during a recent mountain biking trip.

Ashley and Keegan brought along  their dog who waited nearby as we  took a few photos.

After finishing the shots near the building we invited the patiently waiting retriever over to  join the fun.

The hilltop is full of cute nooks and crannies to take photos, along  with a wonderful view of the city and the old stand-by locations that are so hard to resist.

It’s true what they say about involving children and animals whenever a camera is around, they just cant help getting into the act.

The morning was beautiful and the grounds were absolutely magnificent.  Almost any alcove or wall is ready for a photo, add a smiling, loving couple and your job is easy. We had a fun time and thoroughly enjoyed the company. Thank you Ashley and Keegan.
