Last weekend we traveled to Tacoma to meet with Jenna and Jeff for their engagement session. We decided to rendezvous at a neighborhood coffee house to decide what locations would suit the overcast, windy day. Jenna and Jeff arrived with extra clothes, a bag of tricks and raring to go.
We headed to the Chambers Creek Trails, adjacent to the Chambers Bay Golf course, a large open space with hiking trails and several old and unused building structures leftover from what looks like a gravel pit. There were large grassy knolls, trails down to and along the water, and rolling hills that bordered the golf course. In short, a perfect spot for the photos.
Jenna and Jeff came with several good ideas about what they wanted the end product to look like and we incorporated them into the session.
After visiting several locations around the complex we packed up and headed towards downtown Tacoma. We wanted to catch some of the afternoon light, sparse as it was, so we drove down to the waterside on Ruston Way.
This was actually our second time photographing the couple. Late last year we got together in downtown Tacoma to shoot a save the date photo for their upcoming wedding. Although we only needed one photo for the cards, we had so much fun with them we ended up shooting a series of shots in several locations.
This was a fun day with a great couple and we are really looking forward to their upcoming wedding. Thank you Jenna and Jeff for sharing the afternoon with us.
